Experience from Project Greensand

With a group of partners, Blue Water has taken a big step towards realising a Carbon Capture and Storage project with great climate potential. The project is called Greensand, and the aim is to capture up to 100,000 tonnes of biogenic CO2 annually from biogas plants in North Denmark starting in 2024/25.

The containerised CO2 is shipped to the Siri area in the North Sea, where it will be stored in empty oil fields in Project Greensand.

Blue Water’s role in the project covers the core competence: to create logistics solutions. In the Greensand project, our contributions include:

Specialised containers and vessels: we have acquired IMO-certified ISO containers and chartered a dedicated vessel for the transport of liquid CO2.
Custom engineering solutions: our engineering team designed and tested the transport frame to safely transport the liquid CO2.
Seamless execution: from calculations and stevedoring to project management, our teams delivered reliable, fully tested logistics solutions for efficient CO2 transport and storage.

CO2 road transport

We provide road transport solutions for CCS projects. With a structured plan in place, we manage the safe and efficient transport of CO2 using a unique fleet of tank trailers.With 10-foot ISO tankers and large CO2 tank trailers, we can carry up to 35 tonnes of liquid CO2, ensuring high volume transport with reduced emissions.
