New route opens for salmon exports to China

With this route, Blue Water is demonstrating the ability to deliver comprehensive solutions with greater tonnage and volume

Blue Water’s skilled Perishables team has been entrusted to handle the export of Norwegian salmon on a newly launched freight route between Norway and China. This route strengthens the delivery of high-quality Norwegian seafood to the Chinese market, ensuring efficiency and reliability at every step.

With two flights per week, Blue Water is sending 40–45 tonnes of salmon per flight for the Chinese market:

“We are honoured to take on this responsibility from our trusted Chinese importer, with whom we have established a great collaboration. In addition to managing air freight, we handle all documentation, including for the trucking of seafood from the packing site to the airport, ensuring the highest product quality throughout the journey,” explains Jørn-Erik Sogn, Manager Air Perishables, Blue Water Oslo.

The relation with the importer dates back many years but was further strengthened when Blue Water participated in the renowned Seafood Expo in China last year. Since then, it has continued to grow positively, driven by Blue Water’s reliable transport solutions and dedication to customer satisfaction.

The people make the difference

With this route, Blue Water is demonstrating that we can also provide comprehensive solutions with greater tonnage and volume that go beyond regular air freight services:

"Over the last few years, we have strengthened our reputation and position in the market. This is thanks to our great team, which always manages to provide first-class customer service, follow up with customers and suppliers and, finally, find the right capacity for the solution. We compete at the same prices as our competitors, so I can say that it's our people who make the difference," says Jørn-Erik Sogn.

Blue Water has a strong team in Norway, with offices in Bergen and Oslo, and provides flexible transport solutions for various types of cargo globally. Activities cover both general cargo by road, sea and air, but this new freight route demonstrates how Blue Water is able to deliver solutions committed to meeting customer requirements. 12 dedicated, Norwegian Blue Water employees are dedicated to receiving enquiries, handling perishables from Norway, booking and documentation.
