Blue Water Chicago has recently opened a new distribution centre. With nearly 30,000 sq. ft of indoor warehouse space and positioned near O'Hare International Airport, major interstate highways, and Chicago's extensive freight railroad network, the facility is strategically located for a diverse range of cargo logistics.
The distribution centre is well-equipped to accommodate a wide spectrum of general cargo, with a focus on sea and air transport, and has been optimised in a number of ways to maximise space. For example, it features narrow aisles designed for electric forklifts to navigate, ensuring efficient access to goods. Additionally, an 8.5-meter-high racking system is in place, with upper rack positions capable of supporting weights of up to 700 kg (1540 lb) per pallet.

A cloud-based Warehouse Management System
In addition to storage, the facility also focuses on distribution, including order picking, packing and preparing cargo for distribution in North America. The warehouse is equipped with Blue Water's cloud-based Warehouse Management System that allows customers to have real time updates on cargo status. The system also features global access and easily integrates with most ERP systems.
