DEIF chooses Blue Water across transport modes

For tech company DEIF, it is important to have a transport provider that can deliver flexible and CO2-reduced solutions

DEIF specialises in providing advanced energy management and monitoring solutions, primarily in the renewable energy and maritime sectors. DEIF helps companies optimise their energy consumption, reduce costs and minimise environmental impact. DEIF often works with wind farms, ships and other industrial sectors where efficient energy management is crucial.

With customers all over the world, it is of course essential to choose a transport and logistics partner that can deliver globally across transport modes - and not least with a focus on the most sustainable solutions that can support the company's objectives, such as significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Therefore, Blue Water and DEIF have now entered into a partnership agreement across transport modes.

"We probably have the most ambitious goals in the market when it comes to delivery performance to our customers, and for many years Blue Water has proven itself as a transport and logistics partner with a high level of service that can support these ambitious goals. An extensive tender process has confirmed that Blue Water is also the most competitive partner for our overall transport needs, which is why we have now chosen to extend the collaboration with a partnership agreement, which means that we will work even closer together," says Henrik Overgaard, Head of Procurement at DEIF.

A long collaboration built on trust and reliable solutions

For almost 10 years, DEIF has used Blue Water for various transport solutions. Based on the good service and value-creating solutions provided by Blue Water, a partnership agreement has been signed, which means that Blue Water handles DEIF's shipments across road transport, courier shipments and sea and air freight.

Recently, the two companies went on a joint trip to the port of Hamburg to look at the possibilities of shifting more transport from air freight to sea freight. This solution leads to a significant reduction in both CO2 emissions and costs, while compromising on transit time, which becomes longer.

A proactive partner in CO2 reduction

DEIF has a strong focus on CO2 calculations, which is also an important area for Blue Water. They are constantly working to create the optimal framework for transparent CO2 reporting. With a CO2 calculator, it is possible to see the CO2 emissions caused by a company's transport and logistics activities across transport modes and shipments.

"We want to be a global trendsetter when it comes to climate-friendly products, and this places great demands on our entire supply chain, where all suppliers are selected and measured to ensure that their green ambitions match ours and that they deliver on CO2 reduction, among other things. Blue Water has really picked up this ball and shown itself to be a proactive partner that provides inspiration and concrete suggestions for CO2 reduction," explains Henrik Overgaard.

Morten Ankjær Knudsen, General Manager, Blue Water Billund adds to this positive statement:

"It is important for us to meet our customers' needs when we create our solutions. For us, it's not about doing what the customer asks, but really considering their short-term and long-term needs in the solution. That's how we create the best customer value and innovate solutions. That's why we also consider it a recognition when DEIF shows its confidence in us by signing this important agreement."
