Blue Water Portugal celebrates 10 years and donates to local charity

The anniversary was marked with a donation to O Nosso Milagre 

Blue Water Portugal is celebrating a milestone as its Leixões and Lisbon offices mark 10 years in business. Over the past decade, the offices have expanded from a focus on sea freight exports to offering a wide range of logistics services, including air freight, cruise logistics, project cargo and end-to-end supply chain solutions. 

The team has grown to 26 dedicated employees who work closely together to deliver high-quality service and build strong relationships. 

"The last decade flew by, it has been a great journey of growth and teamwork," says Helio Esteves, Director of Blue Water Portugal and Spain. "We have built a solid reputation in the market, and it is rewarding to see customers approaching us because of the strong name we have established." 

One of the highlights of Blue Water Portugal has been its involvement in large-scale projects requiring close collaboration across the Blue Water network. A notable example was a solar energy project secured by the team in Australia, involving a 10-month contract and 10 vessels chartered from Leixões to Houston for loading of Torque Tubes. The project demonstrated Blue Water’s global collaboration, with teams in Portugal, Australia; Houston and Denmark working together.  

Looking ahead, Blue Water Portugal expects further growth, particularly in project cargo, while continuing to expand its existing services.

Giving back to the local community 

To mark its 10th anniversary, Blue Water Portugal has made a DKK 20,000 donation on behalf of the Blue Water Foundation to support children with disabilities. Colleagues from both the Lisbon and Leixões offices voted unanimously to donate to O Nosso Milagre, a cause close to their hearts. 

O Nosso Milagre provides essential therapy and equipment to children with disabilities and their families. Despite the amazing work they do, many people are still unaware of their efforts. “They can do so much more with the support and donations from companies like us, and I cannot even begin to describe what being able to donate to this great cause means to me,” says Helio. 

The cause is especially personal for Blue Water Portugal, as a dear colleague directly benefits from O Nosso Milagre’s services.  

“It’s not often we have the chance to help in such a meaningful way. When I informed O Nosso Milagre about the donation, it was a very emotional moment for them. And us. This kind of good news doesn’t come often, and we are honoured to support their efforts. I cannot thank the Blue Water Foundation enough for making this donation possible,” adds Esteves. 

Donation til jubilæum er fast tradition
